Big events return to Thunder Valley

Heartland Poker Tour

The Heartland Poker Tour Gold Rush Series returned to The Poker Room at Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln during the month of September. For the second year in a row, Thunder Valley hosted the nationally-televised Main Event, which took place Sept. 25 to 29. Players from all over the country flocked to Thunder Valley to play for a prize pool of over $700,000.

The nationally televised final table was streamed live on Monday, Sept. 29, and after hours of play Joseph Christman went home with $165,130 in winnings. Check out the Poker Room blog at http://pokerroom.thundervalleyresort.com, where the complete results are available.

NorCal Classic

Returning to Thunder Valley Casino Resort for the third consecutive year is the NorCal Classic. The series will run from Nov. 25 to 30 and offer six events, including variations of Hold’em and Omaha 8-or-better. On Nov. 26, Event #3 will feature a $250 buy-in no-limit Hold’em event with a $50,000 guarantee. Then on Nov. 28 the $250,000 guaranteed NorCal Classic begins. This year the buy-in is $500, with two Day 1 flights on Nov. 28 and 29 that offer one re-entry per flight. The field will come together on Day 2, Sunday Nov. 30, and play to a winner.
World Poker Tour California Swing.

Also coming to Thunder Valley Casino Resort in November is the World Poker Tour California Swing Satellite promotion. Guests will earn entry by acquiring 80 hours of live poker play from Nov. 1 through Dec. 21. For those who have earned entry, satellite play will begin on Dec. 22 and continue until the six handed final table. Six players will return to Thunder Valley Casino Resort on Friday, Jan. 2 to play the final table with World Poker Tour director, Matt Savage. The winner will gain entry to all three stops in the World Poker Tour California Swing that takes place in March 2015.

Monday Night Blitz

With Monday Night Football games in full swing, Monday Night Blitz provides guests with additional opportunities to win. During all 16 Monday Night Football games players at Thunder Valley Casino Resort will be able to win their share of $5,000. Prizes include up to $3,000 available in Rack Attacks and $2,000 available in Hot Seat Drawings. Tables will be selected to win Rack Attacks of $100 throughout the game: 20 tables at kickoff, five tables at the start of the third quarter, and five tables at the end of regulation. During Hot Seat Drawings, four guests will be selected to win $100 at the start of the second quarter, three guests will be selected to win $200 at the start of the fourth quarter, and two guests will be selected to win $500 at 10:00 p.m.
Moonlight Splash the Pot Poker & Four of a Kind Rush

Moonlight Splash the Pot Poker continues every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Thunder Valley Casino Resort as well. During Moonlight Splash, random tables in the Poker Room will be chosen to receive $40 to $100 in extra chips. During Four Of A Kind Rush, every Tuesday and Thursday players that make a qualifying four-of-a-kind hand will receive a Rush payout, and during Rush Hour players can win up to $500 for each four-of-a-kind winning hand.
