HPT returns to Thunder Valley in Sept.

The Thunder Valley Players Championship Series returns to The Poker Room Sept. 18 to 29, with pre-series qualifying events beginning Sept. 15. The series will feature the $200,000 guaranteed Card Player Cruises Deep Stack and the Heartland Poker Tour Main Event, which will return to Thunder Valley Casino Resort for the second year in a row.

The Thunder Valley Casino Resort event is the third leg of the Heartland Poker Tour’s Gold Rush Series that now includes four California stops. They begin at Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa in Rancho Mirage, stop at the Commerce Hotel and Casino in Los Angeles before coming to Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln and finish at Club One in Fresno.

“We are thrilled to have the Heartland Poker Tour return to Northern California and to host this very popular series,” said Ben Erwin, poker room director at Thunder Valley. “It was an incredible series last September with an amazing turnout for our first Heartland Poker Tour Main Event. The additional tables have virtually eliminated wait times for late entry and reentry. We look forward to seeing everyone back for the series.”

The Heartland Poker Tour series features 10 events and will begin with the $425 no-limit Hold’em Card Player Cruises $200,000 guaranteed Deep Stack. First place will include a $1,700 Cruise Voucher that can be used on any Card Player Cruise, where poker takes place en route to exotic ports of call. The series includes Omaha 8, HORSE, bounty events and a two day six-handed no-limit Hold’em tournament that begins on Wednesday, Sept. 24.

The $1,650 Heartland Poker Tour Main Event begins on Thursday, Sept. 25 and offers three starting flights preceding the nationally televised final table that will be streamed live, beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29.

The Heartland Poker Tour arrives just after the conclusion of the extraordinarily successful Ante Up World Championship. Thunder Valley Casino Resort hosted the 2014 Ante Up World Championship Main Event, July 31 to Aug. 11. The Final Table took place in dramatic fashion beside the Coconut Pool+Bar on Aug. 11. After hours of play, Justo Avalos of Elk Grove went home with $91,000 in winnings. The final table event was streamed live online on the Thunder Valley Poker Room blog at http://pokerroom.thundervalleyresort.com, where the complete results are available.

With the return of Monday Night Football games this fall, guests at Thunder Valley Casino Resort will be able to enjoy Monday Night Blitz. Players can win their share of $5,000 during all 16 Monday Night Football games. Prizes include up to $3,000 available in Rack Attacks and $2,000 available in Hot Seat Drawings. Tables will be selected to win Rack Attacks of $100 throughout the game: 20 tables at kickoff, five tables at the start of the third quarter, and five tables at the end of regulation.

During Hot Seat Drawings, four guests will be selected to win $100 at the start of the second quarter, three guests will be selected to win $200 at the start of the fourth quarter, and two guests will be selected to win $500 at 10:00 p.m.

Four Of A Kind Rush also continues every Tuesday and Thursday at Thunder Valley Casino Resort. Players that make a qualifying four-of-a-kind hand will receive a Rush payout, and during Rush Hour players can win up to $500 for each four of-a-kind winning hand.

During Moonlight Splash the Pot Poker, random tables in The Poker Room will be chosen to receive $40 to $100 in extra chips every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
