On the third Saturday of the month Livermore Casino hosts a deep stack tournament. Their most recent deep stack tournament, held Dec. 17, paid $2,630 to first place. The next two will be held Jan. 21 and Feb. 18. The buy-in is $175 with a start time of 10:00 a.m. (signups begin at 9:00 a.m.) and you get 20-minute rounds, 15,000 in starting chips, and a $2,000 first place guarantee (plus double points).
Livermore Casino will again be sending players to the WPT Rolling Thunder event at Thunder Valley Casino Resort on Saturday, March 11. The qualifying period to win seats for this event is Oct. 1, 2016 through Jan. 31, 2017. Winners of the Livermore Casino playoff tournament on Saturday, Feb, 11 at 10:00 a.m. will receive seats for this $3,500 buy-in event.
Qualifying for a seat into major event tournaments is easy at Livermore Casino. During their poker tournaments a point system is in place for players who finish in the money at the final table. These points are totaled monthly during the qualifying period, which is typically three to four months. The top 10 point earners each month receive a seat into the playoff tournament.
If a player in the top 10 has already qualified in a previous month, the next highest point earner will receive the seat. Each month begins a new qualifying period which gives all non-qualified players a chance to be in the monthly top 10.
In addition, double points can be earned in their Sunday 11:00 a.m. tournaments, all of which are deep stacks, and the last evening tournament of the month which is a bounty tournament with a $120 buy-in. Your total points earned during the qualifying period will determine your playoff starting chips.
Livermore Casino has 12 tournaments weekly, with buy-ins ranging from $45 to $120, all with $1,000 first place guarantees. Please note that any special event tournaments will supersede regularly scheduled weekly tournaments. Please check their tournament listing in the back pages of this issue (or on their website at livermorecasino.net). For more details, contact tournament staffers Nick or Danny at 925-447-1702 x205.
