Lucky Chances holds Battle of the Bay

From June 2 to 10 Lucky Chances Casino in Colma was the site of the annual Battle of the Bay tournament series. As is true with all of their tournaments, each event featured guaranteed first place prize money, with the Championship No-Limit Hold’em event coming in at $100,000 guaranteed to first.

Featuring a buy-in of $1,080 the main event attracted over 300 players. The top spots went, in a three-way deal, to Alfie Poetra, Ignacio Sanchez, and Dan Kho.

“This year we introduced a couple of changes to our events. Longer dinner breaks were added and the championship event was changed to a two-day event. The 27 finalists returned the following afternoon to play for the prize money,” said tournament director Robert Bloom. “These changes to our events were well received by our players and will be used in our upcoming Gold Rush events.
