The Cardroom’s 2012 Player of the Year is coming to the Lucky Derby on Aug. 18 for the Rellie Sigua Player of the Year Bounty Poker Tournament. This is the third year the Derby has sponsored a tournament featuring the Player of the Year, and last year’s event was the biggest tournament they’ve ever held.
Make the trip to Citrus Heights and take on Northern California’s top player and you may take home the $100 bounty on his head. In addition to the POY bounty, participants will also receive $10 for every player they eliminate.
Tournament begins at 4:00 p.m. and has a $60 buy-in for 10,000 in starting chips. As part of this event they’re gathering back-to-school supplies to be donated to a local school. For every item you bring you will receive an extra 1,000 in chips (5 items max for 5,000 chips).
Sigua says he’s looking forward to the event and the chance to take on the top players in the Sacramento area as well as the rest of Northern California.
