14 arrested at East Bay garage casino

A citizen’s tip led police to a home in unincorporated San Leandro on June 28, which led to the arrest of 14 people on suspicion of operating an illegal casino and also some drug possession charges.

“The home had a detached garage, and these people were running what appears to be a casino out of that garage. The slots were games such as digital poker and other things,” the East Bay Times quoted Sheriff’s Office spokesman Ray Kelly.

One suspect fled the scene but was caught by deputies who followed him using a drone.
