On Wednesday, Aug. 16 the 500 Club Casino in Clovis was temporarily closed by the California Department of Justice’s Bureau of Gambling Control. At issue is a disagreement between the bureau and casino as to what constitutes sufficient funds to cover chips in use.
The 500 Club’s general manager, Dusten Perry, said the bureau has “an inaccurate interpretation of their own regulations with respect to the casino’s chip bond,” and hopes that they will be open again in only a few days.
