The 20th annual Battle of the Bay will be held at Colma’s Lucky Chances Casino April 22 to 30. The five no-limit Hold’em events (with re-entries) will have a total of $190,000 in first place guarantees.
First up on Sunday, April 22 is a $40,000 first place guarantee tournament with a $600 buy-in, 15,000 chips, and 30-minute levels. There is a $30 optional staff appreciation fee for an additional 5,000 chips. This and all other events will have a start time of 9:30 a.m.
Then on Monday and Wednesday they are holding tournaments with $350 buy-ins and $20,000 guaranteed to first place. All the details (chips, levels, etc.) will be the same as Sunday.
Thursday will be a $10,000 first place guarantee turbo event with starting stacks of 15,000 (same staff appreciation bonus as previous) and 20-minute levels. Buy-in is $200.
Tuesday and Friday will feature single-table satellites to the Main Event, which begins with Day 1A on Saturday, April 28. The buy-in is $1,080 for 20,000 chips and the same staff appreciation bonus chip option. Levels will be 40 minutes long and play down to 10 percent of the field.
Day 1B is the following morning. Players who have already qualified for Day 2 may also enter this flight to attempt to secure a larger chip stack. Day 2 finals will be Monday, April 30. Play will begin at noon.
Lucky Chances will also be holding Battle of the Bay super satellites on Sunday, April 15 and Saturday, April 21. The buy-ins are $250 for 10,000 chips and an optional $10 staff appreciation for 2,000 more. Prize packages will be a $350 seat, $600 seat, and $1,080 Main Event seat plus $70 cash.
