The Bay 101 Open series of tournaments begins Aug. 20 at the Bay 101 Casino in San Jose and runs through Aug. 27. Events feature buy-ins from $120 to $1,080 with games having various takes on no-limit Hold’em as well as an option for Omaha players. All tournaments begin at 9:30 a.m., with the exception of Day 2 of the Championship event which begins at noon.
First up on Monday, Aug. 20 is no-limit Hold’em with a $345 buy-in, followed the next day by Omaha Hi-Low, also for $345, then another no-limit Hold’em at $345.
On Thursday they are having a Knockout tournament ($345) with a $100 bounty paid for each player you eliminate.
Aug. 24 is Day 1A of the No-Limit Hold’em Championship which has a buy-in of $1,080. Players eliminated on Day 1A are free to re-enter on Saturday’s Day 1B, which is followed by Day 2 on Sunday, Aug. 26. The remaining players will play down to the eventual winner who will receive a beautiful trophy and entry into next year’s Shooting Star Main Event as well as the cash. Last year’s champion took home $71,400 from a prize pool of $401,000.
Rounding out the schedule are two more events: All-in or Fold on Sunday morning ($120) for which sign-ups are the morning of the tournament only, and Partners No-Limit Hold’em on Monday, Aug. 27 for $440.
