Cal Neva Resort and Casino renovation progressing

California billionaire Larry Ellison of Oracle Corporation fame bought the Cal Neva Resort and Casino last year for $35.8 million and is in the process of renovating it with the intention of re-opening the casino and hotel.

Formerly owned by Frank Sinatra, the Cal Neva had fallen on hard times and was picked up through bankruptcy court by Ellison. Now they are in the process of demolishing some of the older, unsafe cabins, while salvaging what they can of the historic site.

The process is due to be finished by the end of the year.
