Capitol Casino’s Deep Stack draws 107 entries in December

Saturday, Dec. 14 was once again a busy tournament day at Capitol Casino for their monthly Second Saturday $220 Deep Stack event. With Capitol Casino adding one seat for the winners of their Monday through Friday tournaments, a nice turnout for this monthly event is always assured.

December was no exception, fielding a total of 107 tough Sacramento area poker players. The prize pool peaked at $21,400. After more than a full day of tournament poker and after knocking Bruce F. out in third place for $2,562, two very tough local players (Andrew B. and Loc H.) decided to chop the remaining pool, receiving $5,350 each. Capitol Casino’s next Second Saturday Deep Stack will be held on Jan. 11 at 11:00 a.m.

Capitol Casino offers a variety of Texas Hold’em Tournaments to accommodate a multitude of desires. The third Saturday of every month they have a bounty tournament with a $150 buy-in and $50 bounties that has really taken off. Every Sunday Capitol Casino runs a $5,000 guaranteed prize pool tournament for a $120 buy in.

The first and last Saturday’s of the month they offer a double stack event for just a $60 buy-in. Weekdays are off the charts for tournament play at Capitol Casino. They offer a $30 buy-in tournament with one optional $30 add-on. The prize pool for these weekday events averages about $3,800 with first place averaging $1,200 plus the $220 seat for the Second Saturday Deep Stack added by the casino for each winner.

Texas Hold’em and Omaha are as popular as ever at Capitol Casino. Daily Hold’em games include $4/8 and $8/16 limit with a full kill. For those that prefer no-limit they run numerous $1/3 and $2/5 no-limit games. The $4/8 limit Omaha with a half kill game at Capitol has been running as many as three to four tables at any given time. On Monday’s they offer $8/16 with a half kill Omaha for those willing to try their luck at bigger stakes.

Capitol Casino also offer a variety of other table games including Blackjack, EZ Baccarat, Pai-Gow poker and tiles in their popular Dragon Room.
