The Battle of the Bay comes to Colma’s Lucky Chances Casino April 18 to May 4. These three big events all feature multiple days and will have a total of $850,000 in guaranteed prize pools.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 24 to 26 at 9:30 a.m. will be Days 1A, B and C of the first event. It has a guaranteed prize pool of $250,000 with first place expected to be $50,000. The buy-in is $630 for 30-minute levels with 25,000 chips. Day 2 is the following Monday starting at noon.
Participation in the second event comes at a $380 buy-in. Day 1A and 1B are on April 28 and 29 at 9:30 a.m. The prize pool guarantee is $100,000 with $20,000 expected for first.
Players will start with 20,000 chips and play 30-minute levels. The remaining players return for Day 2 on Thursday, April 30.
Event 3 has a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool, and they foresee $100,000 going to first place. It starts with Day 1A on Friday, May 1, with Day 1B on Saturday and 1C on Sunday—all starting at 9:30 a.m. This $1,140 buy-in tournament has 40-minute levels and 30,000 starting chips.
Survivors from the three Day 1s will be back for Day 2 at noon on Monday, May 4, to play until conclusion.
Satellites to win a package good for all three Battle of the Bay events start Saturday, April 18 and run through Thursday, April 23 (all at 9:30 a.m.). For a $265 buy-in, players receive 12,000 chips and play 20-minute levels.
One in 10 players will receive a prize worth $2,200. It consists of an entry into all three events ($630 + $380 + $1,140) plus $50 cash. Seats are transferable.
