By mid-July the longstanding Ranchos Club cardroom will be closed for good and less than three miles down the road will be the all-new Magnolia House Casino.
They are taking over the space formerly occupied by the Sheepherders Inn at 11275 Folsom Blvd. and will be spreading poker, blackjack, pai gow and baccarat.
Rancho Cordova attorney Tom Sheridan was quoted by the Sacramento Bee saying, “What we’re really looking for is a spot for higher-end players to come and gamble without all the crowds. You want something comfortable where you can have a good cocktail, a decent meal and you don’t have to leave the table. We just feel like in that area, there’s nothing to compete with that.”
The facility’s restaurant is owned by Lucky Sahota, who operated the Fire Rock Grill at the same site until last year. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and serve a wide variety of entrees, sandwiches, pizzas, breakfast fare and cocktails.
