Nguyen takes Livermore Players Championship

Livermore Casino’s latest Players Championship tournament on June 9 lasted over six hours, and in the end the latest winner was Tony Nguyen. The series ran from February through May and included special tournaments for a Chinese New Year party in early February and the casino’s 11th anniversary party in mid-May.

The top 10 players each took home a share of the $12,500 prize pool. Not a bad day in Livermore! The next Players Championship series is already underway—now through September. Stay tuned for the announcement of the upcoming Main Event date and time, which will be scheduled for October 2019.

With a complete tournament calendar and larger than expected prize pools for a locals-favorite cardroom, Livermore Casino is the only place to play poker in the Tri-Valley. They boast the most weekly tournaments in the Bay Area and a hugely popular Players Championship every four months, so they are a top spot to play tournaments and cash-game poker.

Keep an eye out for their double points tournaments to increase your chances of making the next Players Championship.

Tournament buy-ins are as little as $45, and every tournament has a first-place guarantee of at least $1,000 (based on a minimum of 20 players). Changes are happening regularly, so check their website for the latest details (livermorecasino.net). Featuring rebuy, bounty and deep stack structures, the calendar has a little something for every tournament player.

Also, the generous $10 per hour buy-in bonus (two hours maximum) is available to all tournament players interested in taking their winnings to the cash games or recouping their losses there. Please contact the tournament director at 925-447-1702 x205 for more details.

Livermore Casino’s cash game promotions include three daily High Hand Bonuses, Royal Flush and Aces Cracked, along with Bad Beat Jackpots in Omaha and Hold’em. Live action games include $3/200 spread-limit Hold’em, $4/8 limit Hold’em, $6/12 Omaha Hi-Lo with a $10/20 kill, and Pan. Their Cal Games include EZ Baccarat, Three-Card Poker, and Pure 21 Blackjack—all with no player collection. The kitchen at Livermore Casino delivers outstanding fare, including a Friday evening Prime Rib Dinner Special and a $2.99 two-egg breakfast. Don’t forget to visit the Sports Bar, which has Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. All of this in Downtown Livermore—the Tri-Valley’s only Poker destination!
