Peppermill Resort Spa Casino in Reno is hosting the Poker NV Fall Challenge Oct. 2 to 12. The annual fall poker event has become a much-anticipated poker tournament by local players and circuit poker tournament players alike. This year, the event boasts $156,000 in guarantees.
The Poker NV Fall Challenge kicks off Friday, Oct. 2 with a $40,000 guaranteed first event for a buy-in of only $240. This is a two-day event that promises to be fun and exciting and a great poker value. The $40,000 spring event had more than 200 participants and the fall event is shaping up to be much larger. Deep stack poker fun with a big first place prize … it doesn’t get much better.
Poker NV is introducing a new event this fall: the $175 buy-in, no-limit Hold’em Senior Tournament for players 50 years or older. Players requested that a senior event be added to the schedule and the Peppermill listened. The senior event will be entertaining and challenging due to a very strong field filled with veterans and past champions.
The Peppermill is also bringing back the very popular two-day Heads-Up Championship in event #15, Wednesday Oct. 7. The HU event is a $350 buy-in with a maximum field of 64 players. The Peppermill Poker staff says that of all the events, the HU event consists of the most smack talk and outright good time. The players attempt to outplay and outtalk their opponents in an attempt to take the top spot, bragging rights, the cash, and the trophy of a beautiful engraved watch.
All tournament poker players will have their eyes on the big cash for first place in the Main Event. Players can buy into the Main Event for $1,100 or win a seat in one of the many affordable satellites. The Main Event has a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000, but tournament organizers expect the prize pool to surpass $200,000. The two-day Main Event begins with Day 1A at noon on Friday, Oct. 9, followed by Day 1B on Saturday, Oct. 10. Main Event Day 2 will begin at noon on Sunday, Oct. 11 and play will continue until there is a champion.
The Poker NV Fall Challenge will also feature PLO, Omaha 8, no-limit survivor events and no-limit bounty events. There will be something for all players and all skill levels.
The Peppermill continues the All-Around Poker Player event with players earning points for tournament results throughout the Fall NV Challenge, and the player with the most A-A points is guaranteed first place money of $5,000.
There is much fun to be enjoyed at the Peppermill and so many ways to win.
