Peppermill’s “elegant” 19-table poker room

The new poker room at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino in Reno, Nevada should truly make it to every poker enthusiast’s bucket list. “It is arguably the most elegant poker room around,” said poker room manager Mike Gainey.

Their 19 nine-handed poker tables were designed to be narrower, allowing for improved sight lines. They also feature 36 hi-def LCD screens strategically placed throughout the room with a 10-foot screen on the back wall.

A glass wall separates a high limit area and the state-of-the-art Genesis Bravo electronic waiting list and player tracking system makes sign-up a breeze and keeps the action flowing at every table. Complimentary soup, sandwiches and beverages are available. The room even boasts its own dedicated restrooms and convenient entrance just steps from parking.

The Poker Room offers a bad beat jackpot, bonus hands, progressive straight flushes, progressive royal flushes and hourly high hands that roll over. It also features popular daily tournaments that offer a poker league every quarter with a freeroll of $15,000 for tournament players who have accumulated league points.

During the week there’s $2/4, $3/6, $4/8, and $15/30 limit Hold’em, and a $30/60 game on weekends. There are weekly no-limit Hold’em games with blinds of $1/2, $2/3 ($5 to come in), and a $5/10 game on weekends. They also have daily Omaha Hi/Lo at $4/8 limit and on the weekends $10/20, both with a half kill.

Gainey adds, “We’ve paid out more than $750,000 in bonus and progressive hands so far this year.”
