The Cardroom launches new website

By Barbara Engler

In January The Cardroom’s new and improved website was up and running. After some adjustments were made, consider this the “grand opening” announcement. It still has all of the content from the “hard copy” edition, but now there is much, much more.

In addition to the usual articles, tournament schedule, and cardroom directory, the new site adds such extras as blogs, social media feeds, and an extensive Events Calendar for special tournaments not on the casinos’ regular schedules.

One big advantage the website has over the bi-monthly paper is our ability to update it more often, especially in the area of Casino News. So come back often for all the latest information!

We are still at the same address (www.thecardroom-norcal.com) but the look, feel, and content of the site couldn’t be more different. It was put together by the talented James P. Williams and his team at Santa Cruz Webmasters.

“We were intrigued when James contacted us about revising the site because, as a poker player himself, he should have a much better idea of what we are looking for than the average web designer,” said publisher Randall Rapp. “[Publisher] Paul [Giambroni] and I couldn’t be happier with what James has done and I encourage everyone to visit the site and see for themselves what we are talking about.”

“It was fun working on the website for Randy and Paul,” Williams said. “Being a poker player as well as a web designer, it was the best of both worlds for me.

“I recognized right away that they would benefit by using WordPress. The newspaper is article based and WordPress was made for content driven sites such as The Cardroom. Plus, it is now more attractive and user friendly for readers. It was a pleasure working on this project!”
