The Palace enters POY contest

The Palace Poker Casino in Hayward has joined The Cardroom’s NorCal Poker Tournament Player of the Year contest and is looking forward to awarding lots of points at their many tournaments.

This 11-table cardroom may be the best kept secret in the Bay Area. They claim that every week a new customer says, “I didn’t know there’s a cardroom in Hayward,” yet The Palace has been in downtown Hayward for over 50 years.

Players at The Palace always have a good time because the poker action is fast and exciting, with lots of big pots. Also, they don’t employ any props, which they feel makes the action even better.

They will be having a $120 buy-in tournament on the third Sunday of each month, starting on Sunday, March 25 at 9:00 a.m. They will also have a special $120 buy-in Partners Tournament on Saturday, May 5 at 9:00 a.m., and a $3,000-added Tournament of Champions event on June 2–3.

Daily tournaments at The Palace are: Monday–Thursday $30 + $10, Friday and Saturday $50 + $15, and Sunday $50 + $15 ($20 bounty). All tournaments start at 9:00 a.m. and offer an optional tournament staff bonus for more starting chips.

The Palace offers a 24/7 complimentary shuttle that drives customers to and from a free city parking lot located a few blocks away on Mission and C Street. There is a new 35-stall parking lot near completion directly across the street from The Palace Poker Casino, located at 22821 Mission Blvd. (510-582-1166). There is also ample street parking in front of the cardroom on Mission Blvd.

The Palace spreads $3/6 and $4/8 Hold’em with half kill, and $1/2/2 no-limit with optional kill ($100 min. buy-in, no max.). The action at the Double Hand Poker and Blackjack can get very big. The Palace is currently awaiting city approval to add new games, such as Three Card Poker, Baccarat, and Pai Gow Tiles.

They also offer excellent jackpots and promotions. Anytime the Quad 7s Jackpot is hit (currently at $60,000) everyone playing Hold’em wins, even if they are playing on a different table. The aces-full-of-jacks or better bad beat pays out $5,000, and a royal flush pays $500. Get your aces cracked and win $100 (daily from 3:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and Sunday to Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.).

Phase 1 of The Palace’s remodel has been completed, with a new kitchen, restrooms, and nine new flat screen TVs. With the addition of the new full-sized kitchen, The Palace now offers delicious food 24/7. A two story expansion is in the works, just waiting for city approval.
