Thunder Valley Casino Resort is excited to host California’s first Heartland Poker Tour Championship. Players will see $850,000 in guaranteed payouts as the 10-event series runs from Oct. 13 to 25.
The HPT Championship offers a $2,500 buy-in and a $500,000 guarantee. The Championship is scheduled for three Day 1 flights beginning on Friday, Oct. 21 at 2:00 p.m. (1A); then Saturday, Oct. 22 at 12:00 p.m. (1B); and the final Day 1 flight on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 12:00 p.m. (1C).
The final table will be televised and streamed live in Thunder Valley’s fine dining Chinese restaurant, Red Lantern, on Tuesday, Oct. 25. Red Lantern offers a unique culinary perspective on traditional recipes and savory authentic Asian dishes with Hong Long-style flair, complete with a signature cocktail menu.
The series kicks off with one of Thunder Valley’s favorite events, the $425 Monolith that boasts a $250,000 guarantee. Then they follow that up through the week with a variety of events that players have come to expect, including Omaha 8, HORSE, PLO, and the very popular ACTION8 just to name a few.
“We have been a very successful stop on the HPT schedule since 2013 and now have the opportunity to host the Championship. We are excited to bring this event to Northern California,” said Ben Erwin, Director of Poker. “The $2,500 buy-in is sure to attract players from all over the country. With a full schedule of satellites it’s sure to draw players from all over the region for their chance to play in the Tour Championship under the lights on the national televised final table.”
Summer Concert Series
Thunder Valley’s Summer Concert Series runs through September. Its Outdoor Amphitheater features 5,000-seats, state-of-the-art sound and lighting, and two large video screens flanking the main stage. At the Summer Concert Series, guests can enjoy unforgettable evenings of music, comedy and more, outdoors under the stars. The series will be wrapping up with Australian Pink Floyd & Led Zeppelin 2 (Sept. 2), Rewind Fest 2016-Lost 80s Live (Sept. 4), V101’s Big Block Party: Bell Biv Devoe, TLC (Sept. 10), Gavin Degraw and Andy Grammer (Sept. 17), Cyndi Lauper and Indigo Girls (Sept. 23), Smokey Robinson with Arsenio Hall (Sept. 24), Kenny Loggins and Air Supply (Sept. 30), and Frankie Valli and Olivia Newton-John (Oct. 1).
