Livermore Casino celebrated its eight-year anniversary in May with a bang! They had poker and Cal Game promotions all day along, lunch and dinner buffets, a DJ, dancing, and a very fun photo booth.
Continuing their tradition of sending tournament players to major tournament events, Livermore Casino sent 10 individuals (the entire final table at their Road to Rio playoff tournament) to the 2016 WSOP Monster Stack event in Las Vegas. Each finalist received a $1,500 seat into the WSOP event, along with cash for travel expenses. All they had to do to get into the playoff tournament was play in one or more of Livermore Casino’s weekly tournaments.
On May 1 a new qualifying period began for their third annual Race to Tahoe promotion. Livermore Casino will be sending several of their tournament players to the WSOP Circuit Ring Event to be held in November at Harvey’s Resort and Casino in Lake Tahoe. The Race to Tahoe qualifying period is May 1 thru Sept. 30.
Qualifying for the Race to Tahoe is easy. In their weekly tournaments they have a point system for players who finish in the money at the final table. These points are totaled monthly—May through September. The top 10 point earners each month receive a seat into Livermore Casino’s playoff tournament. If a player in the top ten has already qualified in a previous month, the next highest point earner will receive the seat.
Each month begins a new qualifying period, which gives all non-qualified players a chance to be in the monthly top 10. In addition, double points can be earned in their Sunday, 11:00 a.m. tournaments, all of their deep stack tournaments, and also the last evening tournament of the month—a bounty tournament with a $120 buy-in. Your total points earned during the qualifying period will determine your playoff starting chips.
Livermore Casino will continue their deep stack tournaments on the third Saturday of the month for July and August. The buy-in is $175 with 15,000 in starting chips, 20 minute rounds, $2,000 first place guarantee and double points. Sign-ups begin at 9:00 a.m. with start time at 10:00 a.m.
Oct. 1 through Jan. 31, 2017 tournament players will be qualifying for a $3,500 seat into the WPT Rolling Thunder Event at Thunder Valley Casino Resort on March 11, 2017. At last year’s Rolling Thunder the prize pool was over $1.3 million and five winners from Livermore Casino received seats into the event.
Livermore Casino has 12 tournaments weekly, with buy-ins ranging from $45 to $120, all with $1,000 first place guarantees. Please note that “special event” tournaments will supersede any regularly scheduled weekly tournaments.
